THE LOOK: 50's inspired
Celebrity examples: Katy Perry, Marilyn Monroe and Lucille Ball
I LOVE that this look is so classic and timeless.  It's fun and fresh and beautiful and really brightens the face!
This look is very fresh at all times of year because you can wear it during any season whether it's cold and snowing or the sun is shining.  It is stunning whether you're going to a party or gathering or spending a day with friends or family.

HOW TO GET THIS LOOK:  
1. Apply foundation and powder as normal (if you have a very fair complexion already, you can enhance that to get the porcelain skin reflected in the picture).
2. Apply a light blush that looks good against your skin tone, but keep it matte to get this doll-like cheek.
3. Apply eyelid primer (like Urban Decay Primer Potion- Ulta)
4. Brush on a light rosy-gold shadow to mirror the color on Katy's lids and apply it all the way up to the brow bone. Lightly blend .
Also apply a hint of bright white or a light shimmery gold to the inner corners of the eyes, near the tear ducts, for an unexpected pop.
5. Line the entire top lid of your eyes in black liner- preferably a gel liner as it has a longer wear.  Wing the liner out past the edges of your eye-lids to get a cat-eye look, which is the key to this 50's inspired look.
6. The last step for the eyes is to apply the darkest black mascara you can find- a good one for a combination of great length and thickness is Covergirl's  Lash Blast Fusion Mascara.  To get this look, focus on the outer lashes to get them to loo dramatic and winged out.
7.  Next, apply a bright lipstick, like a hot pink, more subtle pink, or even a bright red.  To tone it down a bit, you can then apply a light layer of a nude colored gloss over that.
8. Lastly, (and this is optional, depending on how defined you want your look to be...) you can fill in your eyebrows to define them and make them darker using a shadow or filler of the proper color or eyebrow pencil.  You can create a slight arch by doing this also, if you don't already have your eyebrows shaped.
